Violin Students:
All students require their own violin for music class in grade one. Don't worry Kindergarten parents. In your report card in June, you will get information for renting and purchasing your child(ren)'s violin for September. It is also important to know that the students do not need a violin for the first day of class. In September, I will personally size the student for the size of violin they will need and will send a note home with that information. For the first couple of weeks of music class, we introduce the violin with games, music reading, etc. and we get to know each other and music without violins for a couple of weeks. When students all have their violins we begin with actual violin classes. Band Students:
The grade 5-8 students will require to rent the instrument they have choosen to learn. In June each year, we have someone come out with a variety of instruments to try and then the students along with Mr. Badiuk choose the instrument for the following years. It is preferred that the instrument is rented in the summer months and then brought for the second week of school. The first week of school is spent reviewing music, playing games and learning the expectations of the classroom.
